new kicks

This is huge! Ellie got new shoes! After mastering her "walkers" over the past year, it was time to upgrade to a new shoe. We couldn't buy just any shoe as Ellie still has her inserts/orthodics. She goes back to physical therapy next week. We will see if she continues in her current orthodics for another 3-6 months or downgrades to a smaller orthodic/insert. So shoes were limited. But I wanted something sturdy and cute. We seriously lucked out that Ellie's foot issues were discovered and treated over the fall and winter- maybe just maybe she can wear sandals on a regular basis this summer!
After a little visit to our neighborhood Lauries (Who has been so majorly helpful in fitting poor Ellie's feet) we came up with these cute little numbers! Obsessed. When asked if she liked her new shoes, Ellie replied with a huge "SESH!!" A couple of trips down the slide, a balloon, a cookie and we called it a day.
Thanks Grandma for coming with us. What a big milestone for Ellie. She has been nothing but patient with her little feet and sat like such a big girl while they were measuring her and trying on shoe after shoe. So Grandma took her to the mall for more treats, of course :)
