The 4th of July was on a Wednesday this year. Midweek is hard on working parents! I was happy that we had our party the weekend before, leaving Wednesday as just a family day of fun!
Since it has been 105 for 2 weeks (and finally raining tonight!) we decided to stay inside and hit up the Magic House! Chris said he hasn't been in 20 years and it is a St. Louis gem that we rarely hit up. The kids had the best day!
Ellie is fascinated with all things medical, so she loved the nursery. She swaddled her baby, checked her (really a him) temperature, changed her diaper and fed her. John threw a few babies on the ground and ran out of there. He was more interested in the fishing and changing tires!
Grandpa has a grandparents pass that Gommy gave him for his birthday last year. We were able to use it and need to use it a gazillion more times in the next month b/c it is so great! Gommy was watching down on us so happy we were finally taking advantage of some perks. Thanks Grandpa and Gommy for the best 4th of July!
After our fun afternoon, we went home and took naps! John has long since said goodbye to morning naps and is finally starting to take the marathon naps that we are so used too with Ellie. Unfortunately, Ellie's are starting to get shorter and shorter every day. I love nap time so much, not sure what I am going to do when it is nonexistent.
Once we woke up, we decided to head over to the Haucks for an impromptu BBQ. We had big hopes of going to see the fireworks, but the were all cancelled due to the heat and dry conditions.
Lill, Ell and Ry were all coordinating. What can we say, we like to shop at the same spot :) Ellie loves going over to play with Ryan and Lilly. They have the best toys, swing-set and biggest bathtub. Ellie is always requesting a bath after a couple hours of fun over there!
Attempted pic of my favorite brother/sister duo. But John is starting to become a BIT uncooperative with staged pictures. Especially when there is a really cool flight of steps behind him.But I managed to wrangle my little lover for one quick picture before he took off again. And before we threw him in the tub with 4 girls. One day all of his friends will be super jealous he took so many baths with the Hauck girls.
Happy 4th from the Peterson family to yours!
