Chicago

Thursday AM the Griswold's packed the family roadster and hit highway 55. Chris has to stay behind for work, so I headed up with my parents and the kids. 4-5 days, unknown weather conditions, 2 children, a rehearsal dinner, and wedding call for a LOT of gear. We looked ridiculous. The trip started off early in the AM in the rain, and we didn't make it too far before my dad lost his running shoe that he left on top of the car. (Don't worry, Chris spotted it today along the entrance ramp to 270 and my dad went to retrieve it). By Springfield my mom was wishing she hadn't drawn the short end of the stick by riding with me. Ellie hates her carseat. A lot. And John likes to eat. A lot. But we made it in one piece and were estactic to be in Chicago to celebrate my brother Sean's wedding to Catherine!

We got organized in our room at the Affinia and then headed out to Piece for a welcome party..
The mother of the groom with her first born. A fun little game to play with my mom is to mention how her first baby is getting married and the tears just start a-flowing! She has a special spot for her baby boy :)
 JG, Tim and Cheryl..
 The bride and groom!
Seesters + Cousin. My cousin Michelle and Aunt were lifesavers in helping me with Ellie and John all weekend! We owe them big time.
Tim and Cheryl a little over one year after their fun wedding..
Ellie bee and I shortly after we said our goodbyes. It is hard being a single parent in a city with 2 little ones under two.. I was super excited for Chris to get up there the next morning!
Although I heard I missed out on a LOT by going home early with the kiddos. A lot of kareokee, which is my favorite form of late night entertainment. Probably for the better... not too sure how many people need to hear Goodbye Earl over and over and over and over. We all know that Earl had to die..
Next up.. rehearsal dinner....
